ADMISSIONS PROCESS

ADMISSIONS PROCESS

As disciple-making educators working towards the development of the whole child, Lake Norman Christian School seeks to learn about the spiritual, cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of each applicant.

We look for evidence of good character, intellectual ability, emotional maturity, curiosity, and breadth of interests. Although we want to guard the culture and environment of our school, students are not required to be professing Christians in order to attend. The Admissions Committee carefully evaluates each candidate on the basis of previous academic records, behavior reports, recommendations, entrance evaluations, and interview.

SUBMIT APPLICATION

After prayerfully considering if Lake Norman Christian School is the best fit for your
family, submit an online application for your child with a non-refundable application fee.

In the application, we ask for the email addresses of your child’s most recent school teacher and your references. When you submit the application, a form will be emailed to both individuals for them to complete and submit online.

STUDENT RECORDS REQUEST

Your student’s school records are a vital part of the application process and required in order to complete his/her application file.

Our application includes a form giving us permission to request records from your student’s current school. Once your child’s application is submitted, we will request school records.

We must have your student’s records (including any educational testing and/or classroom accommodations) in order to continue the application process.

ENTRANCE EVALUATIONS

Prospective students must meet academic entrance requirements based on prior grades and standardized test scores.

We will request test scores (K - 12th grade prospective students) from your students’ current school, but you may also provide them to the Admissions office in person or by emailing them to us.

Admissions testing may be administered in the event that test scores are not available or are out of date.

PARENT INTERVIEW

The Admisions Director will set up a meeting with you to discuss the remainder of the admissions process, share about your relationship with the Lord and hear more about LKNC.

ADMISSIONS COMITTEE

Once we have received all school records (including test scores, educational testing and classroom accommodations), the pastor and teacher reference letters, and have
completed the entrance evaluation (if necessary) - your student’s file will be reviewed at the next scheduled Admissions Committee meeting.

ENROLLMENT DECISION AND NOTIFICATION

The Admissions Director will let you know if your student has been accepted, waitlisted or if we are unable to enroll your child at this time. Because of the myriad of factors that go into making an enrollment decision, we will not disclose the reason for not extending acceptance to your student. Please refer to our admissions timeline to see when enrollment notifications will be sent.

Within your acceptance email, you will also receive a link to your enrollment packet. The online packet must be submitted ten (10) days after receipt if you are accepting enrollment for your child. A non refundable student enrollment fee is due at the time of submission.
