Field Trips at LKNC are always fun for students. Their purpose is almost always to enhance and enrich learning through hands-on, experiencial learning. Occasionally students are rewarded for academic excellence or for achieving a stated goal. These trips are considered academic because students had to achieve academic success in order to earn the trip. A few examples of recent academic field trips are the following: Elementary students went to Raleigh to tour the capital building and visit other important sites; Middle School students went to Atlanta and visited the Georgia Aquarium; High School students went to Washington DC and had the privilege of participating in a wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery.
